About Wakanacolors
I am Wakana, a French-Japanese artist who has lived in Paris, Tokyo, and Lisbon, and now call Copenhagen home. Drawing from my multicultural experiences, I seek to capture the beauty of the world, with a particular focus on Japan and its changing seasons.
Through Wakanacolors, I create handcrafted prints that blend Japanese wabi-sabi with European aesthetics, an approach inspired by the raw beauty of imperfection and the art of mindful living. My work in Risography and hand-pulled screenprinting reflects my journey, rooted in craftsmanship, cross-cultural storytelling, and sustainability, with a deep appreciation for life’s radiant beauty.
Before fully dedicating myself to my artistic practice, I spent 15 years working in Graphic Design and Brand Design Strategy.
