STORY: SAKURA
Beginning of spring.
‘Sakura’ - the Japanese cherry blossoms - are a symbol of impermanence, the passing of time and the transient nature of life, as they bloom for only a few weeks before they inevitably wither and die.
The ‘mejiro’ (white-eyed birds) also enjoy and celebrate the sakura. They represent here the 4 phases of life. In contrast, the Mount Fuji rises, unshakeable and everlasting.
